Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), also known as Styrofoam, is a very versatile material that has numerous uses. Many people would be familiar with the packaging that comes with most electrical equipment but few would consider using it as an option when producing props or signage. Why? Our answer is ‘Why Not?’

Or to put it another way – will it be seen from a distance or up close? Will multiple people be holding the sign or just one? Is there a stage you need to fit or are you trying to fill out a trade stand?
It is important to ask these questions because scale is important to get the effect you are looking for. One metre on screen can look very different to one metre in situ and designs can end up being too big for the photo-op or too small for the stage.
How will it be used?
Will there be people holding it? Can it be hung? Is it freestanding? Is it wall mounted? Will it be used indoors or outdoors?
Our signs have floated on a lake, swung from a ceiling and crowd surfed the main stage at Oxegen – we’ve seen it all. We’ve experienced challenging locations in the past and love developing innovative support solutions to realise your designs.
Do you have a design?
Do you have artwork you’d like to use? Do you have a visual reference? Are you working with branding guidelines?
If you have professional design files you can send them through as a fully editable vector in eps or pdf with high resolution jpg or png imagery. If you have a picture, a reference or even just a typeface you’d like to work from, our inhouse designers can liase with you to create tailored artwork for your project.
When do you need it?
Most of our signs and props can be turned around in 5-7 working days but this depends on the scale of the job. If you let us know when placing the order how much time you have, we are in a better position to advise on options available.

The Hollywood Classic
Our original model is a simple cost-effective design without losing any impact. Grounding the letters with a basebar or eliminating the spacing to keep the text joined and using a simple font in white polystyrene means they can also be turned around very quickly.
The 3rd Dimension
Our layered signs are 3-Dimensional giving them a more dramatic appearance in photos, when compared with using standard materials like card or foamex. Text can be left white on a contrasting painted background or vice versa. However, if your sign has a gradient colour or intricate details, we can print the sign and add 3D elements to it.
The 45er
Our signs are often used as handheld props in photoshoots and the 45er is no different. However it is also fully self-supported and therefore can be used as an interesting point-of-sale prop or a dynamic freestanding sign.
